It must be mentioned here that all the personnel at the cemetery were very cordial, respectful and helpful. That includes the veteran volunteers, and Veterans Administration employees working throughout the cemetery. Without their help I could not have come up with this very helpful tool to assist other veterans, families and friends find a grave site easily.
After several visits with friends and widows from our church it was very evident that others were experiencing the same problems we were in locating a grave site. It was necessary to visit the Public Information Center to get personal directions because maps produced by a machine at the cemetery were very difficult to interpret.
Hopefully this website will ease some of those problems by presenting you with information prior to your visit that can be very useful. Instructions on how to find the Section, and Grave Marker Number where the veteran is interred and the ability to download maps at no cost, or restrictions, with GPS locations are a tremendous help.
For instance the GPS location shown below input to your GPS unit will get you to the entrance of the Florida National Cemetery near Bushnell, Florida.
